Adopt-a-Highway

ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY PLANTING PARTNERSHIP PROJECT
In 2019 the Barrie Garden Club adopted a 1-kilometer section of Highway 26 in Springwater Township located on Hwy. 26 coming into Midhurst by the Springwater baseball diamonds. The Club has agreed to be part of the Adopt-A-Highway program through the Ministry of Transportation. Our goal is to clean any garbage from the site and promote the growth of wildflowers and native plants on the land to help encourage pollinators in this area. Our Planting Partnership is indicated by Ministry signage on the roadway, and we hope that the mass of flowers will do the job of welcoming people into the City of Barrie. Everyone can help with this project by saving wildflower seeds for future planting.
